The Writing Center provides a place where students and peer tutors can talk about writing. Our goal is to help students take control of their own writing, develop confidence, and write effectively. You can bring writing to us at any stage of the process: from brainstorming and drafting to final editing.

What to Expect

If you want to use the Writing Center, you can either make an appointment or just drop by. It鈥檚 helpful if you have a copy of the assignment prompt and what you鈥檝e written, but we鈥檒l work with whatever you bring. Sessions usually last for about 30 minutes, though you can sign up for longer periods of time. You and the tutor will read over the paper together and then address any questions you have along with any issues we see. After the session, the tutor will let the professor know that you came by.
